The Criminal Investigation Department has arrested a 19-year-old monk from a temple in Ragama area on suspicion of selling nude pictures of little girls through social media.
According to the information received, through the investigations conducted, the investigation officers who went to the relevant place have been able to identify that this smuggling was conducted from that temple.
There were about 1,500 nude scenes of little girls in the temple's computer, eighty percent of which were of girls under 10 years of age.
The monk has admitted that he sold these nude pictures on social media.
The arrested officer was remanded after being produced before the court.
