On the orders of Hatton District Judge and Magistrate M. Farook Din, a sergeant in charge of the court caught the suspect and handed him over to hatton police on the charge of over-the-top defaming the court in a case pending in the Hatton Magistrate Open Court.
A 44-year-old father of three from Hatton Bandaranaikepura was arrested.
When the Hatton Magistrate announced a case pending in the Hatton Magistrate's Court regarding the illegal entry of a person into the suspect's house, the complainant announced a similar punishment for a money transaction in the open court without the permission of the Magistrate without a lawyer and another case pending in the same court.
The arrested suspect will be produced before a doctor and a report will be obtained and produced before the Hatton Magistrate's Court again on (13th), said an official of the Crime Investigation Unit of Hatton Police.
